Wavelength-Dependent Nonlinear Absorption in Palladium Nanoparticles

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper aims to study the nonlinear absorption characteristics of palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) at off-resonant wavelengths. For this purpose, multi-wavelength (500–650 nm) nanosecond Z-scan technique was used. The experimental results indicate that saturated (SA) and transition from SA reverse (RSA) can occur, depends on excitation wavelength energy. When is constant, with increase energy, PdNPs change RSA. energy approaching surface plasmon resonance (SPR), phenomenon RSA under in region provides a supplement for systematic PdNPs.

Direct visualization of hydrogen absorption dynamics in individual palladium nanoparticles

Many energy storage materials undergo large volume changes during charging and discharging. The resulting stresses often lead to defect formation in the bulk, but less so in nanosized systems. Here, we capture in real time the mechanism of one such transformation-the hydrogenation of single-crystalline palladium nanocubes from 15 to 80 nm-to better understand the reason for this durability. Fir...

Size-dependent catalytic and melting properties of platinum-palladium nanoparticles

While nanocatalysis is a very active field, there have been very few studies in the size/shape-dependent catalytic properties of transition metals from a thermodynamical approach. Transition metal nanoparticles are very attractive due their high surface to volume ratio and their high surface energy. In particular, in this paper we focus on the Pt-Pd catalyst which is an important system in cata...

Size-Dependent Antimicrobial Effects of Novel Palladium Nanoparticles

Investigating the interactions between nanoscale materials and microorganisms is crucial to provide a comprehensive, proactive understanding of nanomaterial toxicity and explore the potential for novel applications. It is well known that nanomaterial behavior is governed by the size and composition of the particles, though the effects of small differences in size toward biological cells have no...

Nanocontact-induced catalytic activation in palladium nanoparticles.

We report the synthesis and catalytic studies of novel palladium nanostructures assembled from small nanoparticles by a surfactant-templated method. These one-dimensional nanomaterials comprise high-density nanocontacts of approximately 1 nm in contact length at the particle-particle interface. In contrast to dispersed Pd nanoparticles ( approximately 5 nm), the polycrystalline palladium nanowi...
